We are looking forward to a 2026 season filled with personal bests and new friendships. Our focus this year is on empowering every swimmer, from the five-year-old taking their first competitive strokes to the teenager leading their relay team, to discover what they are capable of! We aren’t just building faster swimmers; we are building the next generation of confident leaders for our community.

Our Goal is Simple: Show a positive attitude, swim our best, and have fun!

In a region defined by the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers, swimming is more than a sport; it is a vital life skill! We believe that every child in our community should feel safe, capable, and at home in the water. We celebrate a swimmer shaving one second off their time just as loudly as a first-place finish. The Dahlgren Sharks are here to make summer swimming a positive, memorable experience for every swimmer who joins.

We are currently welcoming swimmers ages 5–18 of all skill levels from King George and surrounding counties to join our 2026 roster. Whether your child is a year-round athlete or brand new to competitive swimming, there is a place for them in our lanes. We practice weekday mornings at the King George YMCA, with a season that runs from late May through the championship finals in July. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and once our age-group caps are reached, we will move to a waitlist. We encourage you to register early!
