Sign up for Meets
Before your swimmer can compete in a meet, you need to declare which meets they’ll be at. We use Swimtopia to manage meet entries and volunteer shifts, and it’s easy once you get the hang of it!
Getting Started with Swimtopia
Download the App – Swimtopia is a free app available for both iPhone and Android. Download it from your phone’s app store before the first meet. There is a paid version if you would like that gives live updates during the meets; this is optional.
Create Your Account – You’ll receive login information from the team once you’re registered. Use this to set up your Swimtopia account and connect to the Dahlgren Sharks team page.
Declaring for Meets
Check the Deadline – Each meet has a declaration deadline (usually several days before the meet). You must declare by this deadline or your swimmer won’t be entered in any events!
Save Your Declarations – Make sure to save/submit your entries before the deadline. The system will typically send a confirmation.
Make Changes if Needed – If your swimmer can’t attend a meet after you’ve declared, update Swimtopia as soon as possible.
Why Signing Up Matters
Declaring meets in Swimtopia is how we create the meet lineup. It tells our coaches which swimmers are competing in which meets, helps officials seed the heats properly, and ensures the meet runs smoothly. Missing the declaration deadline means your swimmer won’t be in the swim meet!
Pro Tip: Set a reminder on your phone for declaration deadlines. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to forget!
